DENVER – FORTRUST, Colorado’s leading high-availability data center services provider and colocation facility, announced that it has completed its $30 million expansion project bringing its raised-floor colocation capacity to more than 48,000 square feet.  The Denver data center’s investment now exceeds $100 million without incurring debt.  In addition, the data center team has completed integrated systems testing of power, cooling and other critical systems making the space immediately available for colocation.

All of FORTRUST’s colocation areas and raised-floor space come pre-installed with essential infrastructure elements, pre-tested to ensure and validate design capacities and capabilities and may be completely customized to meet customers’ needs.  The Denver data center offers rapid provisioning and flexible configurations for any-size enterprise across a spectrum of industries.  Beyond colocation, customers also may choose from a host of FORTRUST Managed Services to support their mission-critical data.

FORTRUST’s latest expansion was completed in 19 months and was virtually invisible to existing customers due to the modular design.  The data center expansion offers additional premium space to businesses seeking high-availability colocation.

“Our total investment signals that we’re focused on providing our customers with the most technologically advanced and secure environment to colocate their IT infrastructure and protect their data,” says Steve Knudson, FORTRUST’s chief executive officer.  “We’re in this business for the long-term, and this type of investment is key to maintaining our status as a leading data center services provider in the Rocky Mountain region.  It is important for our customers to know that we can scale to meet their business needs along with our own in a financially secure manner.”

The newly expanded area features premium 36-inch raised floor, advanced technology and infrastructure that provides superior redundancy and resiliency further supporting FORTRUST’s client-focused offerings.  The expanded space is flexible and scalable in that it may house a single customer in a private room or be segmented into private cages or suites.  FORTRUST’s space and supporting infrastructure may be viewed in a new data center video tour on the data center’s website.

The entire FORTRUST facility, including the newly constructed area, is progressively designed to deliver high-density and reliable power via an extremely robust electrical distribution system and supporting infrastructure.  The facility is serviced by two utility feeders from separate substations and is engineered to an N+1 or better standard.  The electrical distribution system is comprised of multiple on-site 2,500kVA transformers, N+1 2MW and 2.5MW generators, N+1 750kVA and 1,000kVA UPS systems supplying static transfer switches and power distribution units.  Equally important, FORTRUST has engineered the facility’s environmental systems to meet and exceed clients’ significant cooling requirements.
